• Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?

Yes, tickets must be purchased in advance. Tours often sell out so we suggest purchasing your tickets early to guarantee your desired tour day. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 1-760-870-1133.

  • How far in advance should I book a tour?

We understand that sometimes people wait until the last minute, but we suggest you book as soon as possible, because tours generally sell out.

  • How much food is served on the tour?

As part of your Desert Tasty Tour journey we will stop at 5-7 locations for a delicious sampling. For most, the total tastings are equivalent to a lunch.

  • Are tours appropriate for children?

Desert Tasty Tours is most appropriate for teenagers and adults and is not recommended for children. The 3-hour tour includes one mile of walking, food tastings, and information geared toward adults. Any children who do attend are required to have a full-priced ticket, except for babies who will not be tasting and can come for free.

  • What if I have dietary restrictions?

Please let us know if you or any one in your group has any dietary restrictions or allergies upon purchasing your tickets. While many of the tasting are simply hard to replace, we will do our best to accommodate restrictions if notified in advance.

  • Are there any beverages served on the tour?

Yes, you’ll have the opportunity to have water at the various tasting stops. In addition, there is a beer & wine tasting (depending on the tour) included for guests 21 and older. Please be sure to bring a valid ID to partake in those tastings. It can get hot in the desert, so we encourage guests to bring their own bottles of water as well.

  • How far do we walk and at what pace?

The tours cover approximately 1 mile over a three-hour period on flat (no hills), paved streets. We do recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes. We walk at a relaxed pace and stop frequently, including spending 15 – 20 minutes at each of the designated tasting spots.

  • Does the tour start and end at the same place?

The tours finishes close to the starting location. The specific location of where the tour begins will be provided when you purchase tickets.

  • Are restrooms available during the tour?

Sorry, once purchased, tickets cannot be refunded and cannot be rescheduled because your space is being guaranteed at the event.

  • Would locals enjoy the tour?

Absolutely! A large number of tour participants are locals. Even desert natives learn interesting facts about area history, architecture and culture. And while locals may have been to some of the tasting locations, after the tour they will see them in a whole new light.

  • What should I wear?

We want you to be comfortable. The desert is pretty casual when it comes to fashion, so don’t feel compelled to dress like you are hitting the town. We strongly recommend a hat and sunscreen, as the sun is almost always shining. You will be on your feet the majority of the tour, so please wear comfortable walking shoes.

  • What about inclement weather?

Tours are held on the rare occasion of rain and on all sunshiny days. We know the desert can get hot. Please come prepared with sunscreen, a hat, and bottle of water.

  • Where do I park?

There is ample parking on the street and in a parking structure located near the starting locations of the tours. Specific parking information and directions will be provided after tickets are purchased.

Yes, our walking tour routes are wheelchair accessible. Please note any accessibility needs when purchasing tickets.

  • Can we shop along the way?

While the tours are held along El Paseo and Palm Canyon, the best shopping boulevards in the Palm Springs area, we ask that you refrain from shopping during the tour. We highly recommend allowing time after the tour to visit all the places that catch your eye.

  • Am I allowed to bring a camera?

By all means, yes! We want you to take memories home with you and share them with your family and friends.
